The Lamy Brothers

Whisky, blood and music

Friday, July 27, 2007 - It's Show Time

The big day is upon us. The Brothers are locked and loaded, and ready to alternative blues/country/folk/rock you like a hurricane.
Support this evening will come from the very
special James Shrubsall and the excellent Trent Miller. And the music will kick off around 8pm.

This will be the Simon, Ritchie and Matt's last show for a month as they go off to start new jobs, get married, desperately lose some weight respectively, so if you're anywhere near Croydon tonight get down to
Beer Circus, 282 High Street, Croydon and witness an evening of pure musical perfection.

However, if you can't make it, do not fret - over August the website we be spruced up a bit to reflect the new three-strong line-up, and the Brothers will be back in September with a big push to bring their unique brand of rock'n'roll to more venues than ever before. If you know of anywhere that would have them, please email thelamybrothers@hotmail.com. No pub too small, no theatre too big.

Monday, July 16, 2007

Coming as a surprise to everyone, not least themselves, Lamy Brothers Ritchie and Matt were the 'Lamy Sisters' for one night as they became the last minute headliners at Kaparte Promotions' 'Nocturne Ladies' Night' on Friday.

A good time was had by all, and the brothers were joined on the bill by some great all-girl bands: The New Verb, The Kut and Nessarose - check them out on the links page.

Tuesday, July 3, 2007 - Live Show News

The Lamy Brothers will be playing Beer Circus, in Croydon, on Friday, July 27.

Friday, June 15, 2007

The Lamy Brothers enjoyed two of the greatest gigs of their career last Thursday and Saturday.
What the warm-up show at Herne Hill lacked in audience it more than made up for in rock'n'roll excellence. But the Night of the Third Brother at the Stage Door had it all, and there were plenty of fans in attendance to enjoy it as well. See the photos and new videos from both shows.

Thursday, June 7, 2007

So the day has finally come - the drums skins are taut, the guitars are polished, the throats are lubricated, and the first Lamy Brothers three-piece show is upon us.
Get to the Half Moon in Herne Hill tonight to witness a little bit of history in the making.

Thursday, May 24, 2007

The Brothers are preparing themselves for the mighty 'Night of the Third Brother' Stage Door show on June 9, and Ritchie has created a flyer/poster, which you can find below. Feel free to print it out and put it up wherever you fancy.

And as a warm-up to the Stage Door show, the three-piece Lamy Brothers will be supporting the Butcher Blues Foundation at the Half Moon in Herne Hill on Thursday, June 7. The Brothers will take to the stage at 8.40 and entry is £4 on the door, £3 NUS.

Thursday, May 3, 2007 Live Show Announcement

The first live show featuring the new-look, three-piece Lamy Brothers will be on Saturday, June 9 at the Stage Door, Webber Street, Waterloo, London.

Support acts will be announced in the near future, but if you have an acoustic bent and wish to be part of the evening's entertainment, contact us at thelamybrothers@hotmail.com.

Wednesday, May 2, 2007

The Lamy Brothers stole the show at Arts Depot last Thursday, as the final act on the Depot Untapped live music bill. Check out photos from the show here, and a live video of the Brothers performing Spectre here. And a big thanks goes out our four best friends, Lindsay, Andrew, Xenia and Lillian.

Rehearsals with the Third Brother are going well, and there might just be some recordings from the practice room appearing here soon.

Stand by for the first confirmed date for the new-look, three-piece Lamy Brothers...

Tuesday, April 10, 2007

With just two days to go until the Half Moon show at Herne Hill, the Lamy Brothers are putting the finishing touches to their setlist.
Expect fire, brimstone and inebriation.

Tuesday, April 3, 2007

With just over a week to go, the Lamy Brothers are furiously brewing their own-brand moonshine for the Half Moon gig. Three new songs are in the pipeline and may be aired on April 12.

Another exciting development is the addition of the fabled Third Brother. Previously thought to have been kidnapped as a toddler by a tribe of baboons while the Lamy Folks were on safari, one person has come forward claiming lineage. Although seeming to share the traditional 'Lamy Chin' and penchant for facial hair and hats, he is currently undergoing DNA tests.

Finally, get yourselves over to www.last.fm, search for The Lamy Brothers, play the tunes and get us noticed, if you would.

With the help of Julian Wakeling, Semi-Detached and Simon Breed, the Lamy Brothers ensured a good night was had by all at the Stage Door on Saturday. Pictures soon.

Monday, January 29, 2007

The Lamy Brothers recorded two tracks - Dead Man's Gin and Spectre - at Croydon's Scream Studios on Friday. Ritchie is mixing them as we speak and they should be ready to buy at the Stage Door gig. The brothers also took the opportunity to practise a couple of completely new songs, which may just appear at the Stage Door as well.

Proving that the best things come in small packages, the Lamy Brothers' brief set at the Crypt in Camberwell went down a treat with the assembled throng. But even better than that, a new live show has been confirmed for early February - catch the Lamy Brothers at the Stage Door pub in Waterloo on February 10.

And in preparation for the show, the Lamy Brothers will be returning to the studio to record some new tracks later this week.

Thursday, January 18, 2007

The first Lamy Brothers' show of 2007 is a roaring success, with Croydon's Beer Circus rocking like a hurricane.

Next stop: the Crypt at Camberwell, where there will even be a range of Lamy Brothers merchandise to purchase. No liquor, but we will have tees, cds, and a rather charming selection of badges.
