Monday February 8, 2010 - THEY'RE BACK
Get ready to growl! After a six-month hiatus, where everyday life caused a little bit of necessary interference, The Lamy Brothers are back.
Currently rehearsing fiercely, and sounding as uncompromising as ever, Ritchie, Matt and Simon will be announcing some new dates in the coming weeks. Get your stomping boots on!
Monday May 26, 2009 - 'How To Make It In Music'
The Lamy Brothers have been named as a band to listen to in the 'How To Make It In Music' book. You can find this in WHSmith's - the most rockin' newsagents. The Brothers will be performing plenty much over the next few months so keep checking the website more dates.
Friday January 30, 2009 - Single Launch News

Well it may seem like the Brothers have been a little quiet but they've been busily getting things in order for a rocking 2009. The first big news of the year is the launch of their debut single - a triple A-side featuring 'Whisky, Blood and Music', 'She Ain't Lovin' Me' and 'Wicked Tongue'. To celebrate the event they will be hosting a little party with their friends at The Stage Door in Waterloo next Saturday, February 7. As always it's a free show and there will be further entertainment from Elisa Jazz and folk maestro Andy Smythe, and there'll be some games and competitions for you to play, so please come along - the fun starts at 8pm.
And in other news the boys have been getting in some live performance practice, first playing a special set for their good friend Lillian's 21st birthday, and then blowing the crowd away at the Bedford Bandstand in Balham on January 28. Hopefully some video from the evening will be up on the Bedford's website - www.thebedford.co.uk - this week. And the boys are getting more shows lined up all the time - keep checking back to the Upcoming Shows page for details..
Sunday November 16, 2008
Hello to you all once more.
The Brothers have been up to their old tricks; causing problems and stomping through many a tune. This time they were playing at The Voices of Experience; pictures will be up in the Past Shows section very shortly. The next gig on the horizon is Saturday December 13 at The Native Tongue in Epsom. If you have any chance of getting down there, do because The Lamy Brothers will be playing two amazing sets during the evening. And it's free to get into.
Recording has been going well for the terrible three and the fruits of their labour will be launched at The Stage Door in Waterloo (provisionally) on Saturday the February 7. Here are some pictures of their toil.

Sunday October 26, 2008
Well the Lamy Brothers' fourth Family Show was another great success, next they play down south in Tulse Hill. Also keep on the look out for our forthcoming single which will be available at our live shows by the start of next year...
Saturday September 27, 2008
Ritchie and Matt had a bit of fun at Dirty South last Friday, but the rock really starts with the return of Simon next Saturday, October 4, at the Brothers' favourite haunt, the Stage Door at Waterloo. The Lamy Brothers' Family Show 4 promises to be the best yet with support from the wonderful Ingrid Andrew and the amazing Edd Garret. As always it's free to get in, and we're expecting a big crowd, so get there early!
Thursday September 18, 2008
Well they've been away for a little while but the Lamy Brothers are back with a bang this autumn with three shows lined up already and, all being well, their debut single due to be launched this October.
But before we get onto that we must first send out a big congratulations to Simon and Charlotte who were married in Fulham, London last Friday. Well done to the happy couple, and here's wishing them a joyful, healthy, and fruitful (!) future.
The Brothers went down a storm when they played a handful of tunes at the Club Icarus night in Lewisham on September 4 - they went down so well, in fact, that they've been asked back to play a longer set at Dirty South this Friday, September 19. It's going to be a bit of a special set because Simon is still on honeymoon, so Ritchie and Matt are going to have to supply their own percussion. To see the Brothers' other dates click on the Upcoming Shows page now.
Tuesday July 15, 2008
Well the Brothers put on a hell of a show supporting Zodiac Youth in Brixton on Saturday - despite the fact that their guitars tried their damnedest to scupper proceedings (three strings snapping in the space of three songs - sweet Lordy, what have they done to upset the String God?). Anyway, it all adds to the rock!
They'll be heading back into the studio to do some more recording in the next couple of weeks before taking August off as a summer break. But while they enjoy a little bit of downtime, we'll take the opportunity to add news songs, new pics, and those long-time-coming new videos on the site - so keep those eyes of yours open.
Tuesday, July 8, 2008 - Lamy Brothers support Zodiac Youth
The Lamy Brothers have been asked to support Zodiac Youth, featuring Zodiac Mindwarp and Youth from Killing Joke, at the Windmill in Brixton this Saturday, so come on down and stomp your feet. Entry is £5 (I think), and the boys promise to rock like never before.
Friday, July 4, 2008
Get ready for the Lamy Brothers' Family Show 3... this time it's rock! We'll be playing with our good friends at the Stage Door, Waterloo tomorrow (Saturday), kicking off at around 8ish. Support comes from JD Smith.
Tuesday, June 10, 2008
The excitement is building, the blood is pumping, it's time to rock again. The Lamy Brothers will be playing at the Cock Tavern, 125 Kilburn High Road (where Ian Dury and his band used to play) tomorrow night in support of the Delinquents and the Kits. Music kicks off at 9pm, and our Brothers will be quite early on the bill, so don't get there late.
As an added incentive it's free entry before 9pm, and it'll cost you three English pounds after. So please come along and stamp your feet.
Wednesday, June 4, 2008
The Brothers had a whale of a time at Monkey Chews, meeting friends old and new. Big thank yous to everybody that came along - the boys really do appreciate anybody who comes to watch them. Videos from gigs over the last month should be on the site soon.
Meanwhile, get your boogie pants ready to cheer on our heroes at the Cock Tavern, Kilburn High Road on July 11 - they need all the support they can get.
(The Brothers that is, not your boogie pants)
Friday, May 30, 2008
Well the Brothers rocked out to a select few at Bar Latina on Tuesday, and a good time was had by all. Video from the evening should be coming this way soon, but for the time being enjoy these pics of the boys partaking in some pre-gig sustenance. They know how to live.

Meanwhile, the Brothers are preparing to play at Monkey Chews in Chalk Farm on Sunday, so get ready to rumble.
Tuesday, May 27, 2008
The Lamy Brothers venture to pastures new tonight, as they 'head north', relatively speaking, to play at Bar Latina in Tottenham. Get yourselves down to 673 High Road, Tottenham, N17 8AD for about 7.30 this evening and witness another piece of Lamy Brothers' magic.
Thursday, May 8, 2008
We've just created a Podcast page where from time to time you will find little bits and pieces recorded by the Brothers at home, in the rehearsal studio, or even live at their gigs. The first offering we have for you was recording at Matt's house this March and features the boys doing slightly different versions of some old favourites.
Meanwhile, plans are well in hand for the next Lamy Brothers' Family Show at the Stage Door this Saturday. The Brothers will be ably supported by their good friend and folk wizard Julian Wakeling. Entertainment should kick off at 8.30 and remember it's free, so come on down.
Thursday, May 1, 2008 - Another gig...
Sweet lordy, another live date has been set. The Brothers have been asked to play at Club Icarus, at Dirty South in Lewisham on September 4. Click on our Upcoming Shows page for more.

The mighty Brothers are furiously rehearsing and writing at the moment in anticipation of three more live shows, this time in North London. The first Lamy Brothers' Family Show was a roaring success, and we thank everybody that came to par-tay. Now the search is under way for artists to appear at the next LBFS on April 5. Meanwhile, the boys have been in and out of the studio, touching up (oo-er) the odd tune or two. You can hear the fruits of their labour soon.
Friday, January 25, 2008 - Support acts confirmed
The support acts have been confirmed for the first Lamy Brothers' Family Show on February 9. The Brothers are happy to announce that they will be accompanied by the superb Chris Aliano; star of Channel 5's 'Angry Short Men' the incomparable Spinmaster Plantpot; and there will be a truly special demonstration of the art of illusion from the magnificent Legerdemain Magic. We can't wait.
Meanwhile, if you head over to our Myspace site - www.myspace.com/lamybrothers - you can hear some new raw demos. The finished articles will be appearing here in the coming weeks.
Wednesday, January 23, 2008
Preparations are going well for the first of the Lamy Brothers' Family Show, at the Stage Door on Saturday, February 9, and the second of the Family Shows is confirmed for April 5. These unique evenings of variety with our friends at the Stage Door will be rocking Waterloo every other month but the Brothers need support acts, so if you fancy getting up and singing a song, telling a joke, reading a poem, or just doin' your own thang, contact us here and we'll get you on stage.
The Brothers have also just recorded a few more demos which should be appearing here in the next couple of weeks. So get your ears on, rubber ducky.
Wednesday, January 2, 2008
Well it's been a long time - don't worry, the Lamy Brothers have just been a bit busy with extra-curricular activities in the last few months, but now they're ready to rock and roll in 2008!
So what's been happening? Well Matt became a daddy to Adam and David on November 22, who you can see here.

And then Simon got engaged to Charlotte over the Christmas holiday. So big congratulations to them and we're all looking forward to a rock 'n' roll wedding later in the year!
Meanwhile, Ritchie has been perfecting a whole new brand of Lamy Brothers' moonshine, and will be wheeling it out in the coming months.
And when it comes to the music, 2008 will be better than ever - the first news is that the Brothers are lined up to have regular gigs with our friends at the Stage Door pub in Waterloo throughout the year, starting on February 9 (more details of which in the next week or so).
And the second piece of exciting news is that the Brothers will start recording their debut album in the next month.
So keep your peepers peeled as we make 2008 a year of whisky, blood and music!
Tuesday, October 30, 2007
Well howdy y'all. The Brothers have been in the studio laying down some quick demos so we've got three new tracks on the Tunes page, check them out here. And our good friends Lauren and Kristen have kindly sent in some photos from the Lamy Brothers' awesome appearance at the 12 Bar Club earlier in the month, and you can see them on the Past Shows page, just here.
Otherwise the Brothers are in good form and will be recording some more songs in the coming weeks. They are taking a short break from gigging while Matt waits for his twin boys to be born, but if you can, get down to see Ritchie play a solo set at the Pleasure Unit in Bethnal Green on November 14.
Thursday, October 4, 2007
The Brothers rocked the 12 Bar Club on Monday and a good time was had by all. They are now lining up some more shows in November and may be laying down some tracks in the studio soon — watch this space!
Friday, September 21, 2007
The Brothers went down a storm with the select gathering at the Stage Door last Saturday.
Now they are preparing for potentially their biggest gig yet on October 1 at the 12 Bar Club, on Denmark Street, just off Charing Cross Road. Check out the poster below and move hell and high water to get there, for it will be spectacular!
Friday, September 14, 2007
The Brothers are primed and prepared and ready to rock the Stage Door tomorrow night with an all-new sound and a new tune or two. Be there and we guarantee you a party to remember.
Friday, September 7, 2007
Ritchie and Matt performed Wickedness, Tumbalalaika and Dead Man's Gin at the Open Mic event at the The Star pub in Dorking last night, and it really was a lot of fun.

Here's some pictures from Ritchie and Clare's special day...
Wednesday, August 15, 2007
Well... Ritchie is now married; the Brothers have gigs lined up for September and beyond; and the website is being updated to make the most of the Brother's three-strong line-up - so although we might have been quiet recently, there is plenty in the offing.
The Brothers will be appearing at their favourite watering hole, the Stage Door, on Saturday September 15 (which, incidentally, is the day before Ritchie's birthday).
But even more excitingly - the Brothers will be making their first appearance in London's West End as one of the support acts at the 12 Bar Club in Denmark Street on October 1. Put that date in your diary, we want as many of the Brothers' friends there as possible!
We'll have pictures from Ritchie's wedding on the site soon, and we've already got some new promotional photos here now on the 'Brothers' page. So keep your peepers peeled as we put more new content online in the next few days.
